Now available in Cullompton

Exe Valley eggs are now available in Cullompton following the opening of a new fruit and veg store.

"We've wanted an outlet for our free range eggs in the busy town of Cullompton for some time now," comments John Widdowson of Exe Valley Eggs, "and we are delighted that the opening of Country Fayre in the main street has provided that opportunity."

The business has been established by Brian Horner, pictured right, who describes his new shopkeeping career as a 'retirement project'! Brian was previously involved in the importation of flooring from China in a business now being run by his two sons in nearby Willand.

"I wasn't ready to simply stop working and after taking a close look at the retail businesses based in Cullompton and speaking to local residents it became clear that there was a need for a fruit and veg shop," says Brian. "I enjoy meeting and chatting to people so opening a shop seemed the perfect solution." Judging by the steady stream of customers that have been through the door during the first few weeks of trading, Brian's market research seems to have paid off.

"The eggs are selling well too," adds Brian, "and being produced on a nearby farm means that they compliment our vegetables which we also try to source as locally as possible."
