Exe Valley Eggs have won double gold in the prestigious Taste of the WestAwards. Both our large and medium free range eggs were given the top award by the panel of industry experts that includes chefs, food writers, buyers and other food professionals. They awarded a total of just three Gold Awards for hen eggs from across the entire South West region.
“To think that out of three Gold Awards we won two of them makes us very proud indeed,” says a delighted John Widdowson. “We know our eggs are outstanding but to have this confirmed by a group as prestigious and knowledgeable as the Taste of the West judges is as gratifying as it gets.
“Of course the hens deserve all the credit. All we have to do is ensure that they have the most relaxed outdoor lifestyle, the finest housing and the best quality feed seven days a week. And they do the rest.”Nearly a thousand food products are entered in the annual awards and the judges evaluate each one on the basis of appearance, aroma, texture, packaging and – most significantly – taste.The double win follows a previous Gold for Exe Valley Eggs in 2013.
